About Me

Growing up in Italy, Texas, outdoor activities and sports were instrumental in my development during the 1950’s and 1960’s. Hunting, fishing, football, and baseball were what I did. Later, engineering schools at UT Arlington and UT Austin plus 45 years of experience as a structural engineer working with architects honed an attention to detail and satisfaction with a job well done.

Along the way, I developed a passion for photography. My background contributed significantly to my hobby. Photography was initially focused on wildlife, birds in flight, and outdoor landscapes. The passion developed into documenting travels, children, and grandchildren. The attention to detail, satisfaction with a job well done, love for the outdoors, and being with family has carried forward into my photography.

Photographing the activities of my Grandchildren has lead to others wanting photographic documentation of important events in their children’s lives. I love shooting sports. The feeling of capturing a really good photograph of a child excelling in his/her activity is amazing and greatly rewarding. Then, hearing exciting responses from parents and grandparents upon receiving the images is really the icing on the cake.

Being retired, photography is not a place where I have to make a living. I do it because I really enjoy it. I am not trying to get published in National Geographic, on the cover of magazines, or in books. However, a dozen of my images have received awards at the Creative Arts Photography Competition at the State Fair of Texas. Multiple images have been printed at 24”x36” on metal and are displayed in residences. Even the Pedernales Electric Coop used one of my images on their mouse pads distributed for marketing. So, I am somewhat famous. It’s just that nobody knows.
